Tianjin - A Traditional Textile & Garment Production Base

Tianjin is the biggest port city in North China and the second biggest industrial and commercial center in China connecting twelve inland cities, provinces and autonomous regions. It is always considered as an important base of North China. Tianjin, which is one of the three famous traditional textile industrial bases, plays a key role in the textile and garment industry in China because of its technological background and supporting business. Tianjin municipal government will invest multi-million dollars to renovate and replace the obsolete equipment in the major state-owned enterprises.

The Chinese Textile Industry Outlook

The total volume of textile and garment products export accounts for one third of China's total exports. By the year 2000, the total volume of output of textile industry will reach 55 billion US dollars and 10 billion pieces of garment will be produced and export volume will reach 30 billion US dollars.
