Market Outlook: Since 1996,
China has imported a great number of die and mold from abroad. In 1996 and 1997, China
imported 900 million and 618 million US dollars of die and mold equipment (excluding the
amount of die and mould together with main machine tools). The import amount of the
machine tools increased to 2.5 billion US dollars in 1996. It ranks the first in the
world. At present, there are 3.2 million machines tools in China. Among them there are
30,000 NC machine tools, accounting for one percent of the total. By the year 2000,
China will need 100,000 NC machine tools to meet its growing domestic demand. |
